Overview
As a primary partner in the international ExoMars mission led by the European Space Agency (ESA) and Roscosmos, our client, Airbus Defence & Space, required a custom facility to construct an automated Mars rover.
The project necessitated a purpose-built building housing an environment capable of achieving and maintaining a strict ISO Class 8 classification. It also had to adhere to rigorous bioburden control measures to prevent biological contamination of the rover and address the complex risks associated with molecular and particulate contamination.

Bespoke structural design: We delivered a full-height, stainless steel construction facility featuring specialised changing rooms, airlocks, and dedicated equipment support areas.

Environmental precision: The design is centred on a molecular carbon filtration system alongside exact temperature and humidity controls to meet paramount environmental demands.

Contamination control: Every stage of the project prioritised bioburden control, ensuring the facility maintained the required sterile parameters with staff and material controls.
