Novanta required a world-class manufacturing facility to process Beryllium—a unique material used in mission-critical optics. The project involved re-modelling four vacant warehouse units (2,777m² GFA) into a unified, high-performance site featuring ISO 8 cleanrooms and advanced production lines, one of only ten such facilities globally.

Our expert team delivered an end-to-end technical fit-out designed to handle the complexities of Beryllium processing and high-precision optical coating. The scope included:

Integrated facility conversion: We modified four unserved warehouse shell units into a single, cohesive 2,777m² facility. This included the structural and architectural re-modelling required to house a world-class beryllium production line and specialised plant areas.

Modular ISO 8 cleanroom: To meet the 46-week schedule, we implemented a modular cleanroom solution. This ISO 8 classified environment provides the ultra-clean conditions necessary for the production of polished and coated beryllium optics.

Advanced material handling: We installed Europe’s most advanced material handling process. This system is specifically engineered to manage beryllium, ensuring a fully compliant facility that adheres to modern safety standards for hazardous material processing.
